Our Story
Trevor, the owner of A1 Bus, used to run a youth group for teens in Kelowna and Vernon. As it grew, so did the need for car-pooling to get his youth to various events. Because car-pooling is reliant on volunteers, it was always a challenge to get enough drivers and vehicles. Inevitably there would be one or two volunteers that had to back out last minute.
As a result, Trevor started borrowing a friend’s bus to transport the growing group. Before long, others started asking Trevor to borrow or rent his ‘borrowed’ bus and eventually a business idea was born! Starting with a single bus, Trevor began A1 Bus in 2008 and then incorporated into an official company in 2010.
Today, we have 163 buses of various styles and sizes throughout BC, able to accommodate almost any group’s transportation needs. Our fleet now includes vans, comfortable shuttle buses, classy wine tour buses, plus reliable and roomy school buses that hold from 15 to 56 adults (84 children).
It has been, and continues to be, an exciting journey!

A1 Bus service is available throughout all of BC. Even though our head office is in Vernon, B.C., we have buses parked in most of the cities & towns within our service area which encompasses the Okanagan Valley, Shuswap, Kamloops Region, Thompson Valley, Revelstoke and the Lower Mainland area.
This gives us the unique advantage of being able to give you better quotes because the buses don’t have to travel all the way from our headquarters to get to you. Safety Is Top Priority at A1 Bus Ltd.
Safety is a top priority at A1 Bus Ltd. We do everything we can to ensure a safe ride to and from your event. Our vehicles are fully compliant with everything required by Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement (CVSE) of British Columbia. We work closely with their officers to ensure constant compliance and that nothing is ever overlooked.
Our buses are inspected a minimum of two times per year by a government-approved inspection facility and many of the buses are voluntarily inspected a third time by a CVSE Senior Area Vehicle Inspector to gain additional school bus certification.
Included inside all of our buses are the following:
a copy of our current insurance (with not less than $10 million liability )
a copy of our 6 month MVI Inspection Report
a copy of our National Safety Code certificate
a copy of our Passenger Transportation license
a copy of our pre-trip checklist to aid the driver in doing their safety pre-trip
We do not usually provide these documents ahead of time (via email) due to the time it takes to get them all together and scan them; however if your organization requires them in advance, we will try our best to accommodate.
A1 Bus is committed to maintaining a safe fleet. If you ever have recommendations for us on how to improve OR witness a bus being driven in an unsafe manner, please note the unit number and call our office at 250-550-4272 so we can address it.
